We've come a long way since then. Today, Rock 'n' Joe is headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and has stores in three states with more stores in the works. Throughout our journey we have remained true to our roots: blending truly great coffee with rock 'n' roll energy. For us, it's about creating the best cup of coffee.
Our Story
In the early 1990s, the idea for Rock ‘n’ Joe was inspired by two things: the growing popularity of specialty coffee and rock 'n' roll. Envision a cafe where people would gather to enjoy first-rate coffee in a cozy and laid-back atmosphere reminiscent of an exclusive backstage lounge. In 1993, that vision became a reality with the opening of the first Rock ‘n’ Joe in New Jersey. Legendary rock music filled the air, colorful album covers lined the walls. The popularity of that location quickly attracted interest from franchisees eager to play a role in expanding the business.
Whether you prefer drip coffee, pour over, lattes, or espresso, using the freshest beans is critical. We keep a close eye on the beans during every step of the process. We make sure our brewers, espresso machines, and grinders are calibrated precisely to give the best starting point for brewing. Once our equipment is up to standard, our talented team takes over to create our signature beverages.
